As the “coordinator” for the K2 graduation party, I have to well, coordinate the party. This includes getting the cards together for all the teachers that work in Sean’s classroom. There are 6 of them.
So, I went to Michaels, thinking I would find some inspiration, before I walk over to Scrapbook Island to get some apple stuff. I found these totally cute Recollections frames for the new Fuji Film Polaroid cameras. I was thinking these would be really cute as a card! So I picked them up, along with the gingham fabric tape (a steal at 70% off), and the little flags, and went over to the Island.
Surprise, there were NO APPLES in the store. None. No apple paper, no apple stickers, NO APPLE embellies! So, I was over in the school isle and I found this really cute red Theresa Collins “Hello My Name Is” paper. I was in love with the red, craft, and black combo. It worked perfectly with the craft frames and the fabric tape! So, I picked up the red polka dots and the cute craft letters (one set of letters for all 6 cards!). Then I saw MY FAVORITE Maya Road star pins! I was out anyway, so I picked them up. Then I needed one more star thing… This star ribbon did it. I got a yard, and away I went.
When I got home, I pulled out my Studio Calico wood veneer stars to complete the “your a star” look…
As I was making the card, I realized that I could cut a hole in the card so that the frame would pop into place, and then come off the card so that the teacher could use the frame on their desks! Woot! A double duty card and gift!
And there you have it… My “Your a Star” Thank You note!
ps… I have officially blown my no crafty shopping this year. Time to start anew.
