lavendar mist

in the midst of the mar and tire man show, came a ray of light. lavendar mist. i never had the opportunity to see it when i visited washington dc last time. i was utterly devistated. i know i have talked about pollock before, i’m still talking about him now. i’ve never talked with a guard at a museum that knew so much about modern art.

i walked to where i knew it was. downstairs, around the corner, a piece that you can see if you glance the right way, but is easily missed. did you know that you can take pictures in the museum? i didn’t. i asked. i was given the green light. smile the guard that was standing by the pollock watched me pull out my camera and take 10 pictures. i even changed lenses.

there was another woman looking at the art in the same room… then the guard started pointing out the “abnormalities” in the art… the cigarette butts, which i knew were there… then the raisen, and the cockroach. yes, there is a dead cockroach painted over in lavendar mist. hmmm… very cool. i took a picture of the roach. i thought it was a moth. nope, i’m wrong. smile can you tell how cool i think it is that i saw the roach in lavendar mist?

the guard then told me about other paintings i should check out. what a cool guy!

i also went to the capital building… and sat in the gallery for both the house and the senate. elizabeth dole was presiding over the senate. that was really cool. i knew i recognized her from some where! the senate is pretty snooty. the house was much more relaxed and open. i’m sure it has to do with the fact that senators are elected every 6 years, while house reps are elected every 2.

i kinda wish that i was by myself rather than following mar and tire man around (5 feet behind them actually). tomorrow i’ve decided to ditch them. lets see if i can actually do it.

can’t wait to get home and see sb… oh yeah, and deke.
