making work interesting

for the first time in months, i actually had a conversation with sheri. yeah, i know, weird isn’t it. it seems that the two of us have both had it with work. we are both bored to tears. we are both irritated that we have to have a weekly one on one with kathy. we are both irritated that the entire department seems to be catering to one person. we can’t come in late, we can’t leave early all because one person is unable to follow the rules.

all this time, i had no idea that she was as irritated with work as i am. we both have things that we would rather be doing. she is selling her house, i have my mom here on vacation. yet we can’t take advantage of our “down time” because, kathy needs to “keep things under control” and “make sure we follow the rules”. hmm. it makes you wonder what the hell the problem really is. wait, we know. if one person would do what she needs to do, then we would all have work to do.

so, sheri and i are going to start making work. we are going to work on the layout of the website and look at our reporting. we want to make sure we have the fields and tables we need to report in brio and cold fusion. should be fun, and it will show that be both have very different jobs. maybe even give us both a bit of job security. you never know.
