i finally finished the shawl that i decided to make the rockers mother for christmas. i think it turned out well. its well over 6.5 feet long. i didn’t think it was possible for me to make something that long, but it did. i can not tell you how happy i am with my casting off. the widths of the top and the bottom are exactally the same. i don’t think i’ve ever done that before. i’m super pleased. i used lion brand homespun and size 15 needles. it looks almost like a blanket. i’m still unsure about the need for fringe… hmm. maybe i should take a picture and let you all decide. hmm. that is a thought.
i’m still working on the scarf for the get crafty scarf drive it’s almost 3/4s done. i’m using my leftover rowan kid soft, which i just love to knit with, and it’s lovely. it will need a bit of blocking… but otherwise, i think it’s coming out great.
now, i went to my favorite yarn store last night. the knitters studio is a bit out of my way, but they have the most wonderful selection of yarns. it’s just yummy. i’m going to be making 2 things found in this season’s knitty magazine. latifa is going to be for my boss for christmas, and villa in pink and burgundy for missey andrea for christmas.
i really need to make something for mom… just don’t know what. got any ideas?
