mom came home on sunday. she arrived while the rocker and i were at dinner at his brothers. when we got home, she was there. she had done the dishes we brought home from the baby shower on saturday. she cleaned up the kitchen. she took out the trash. all these things i simply didn’t have time to do, she did.
she even took back the outdated pineapple i got for my lunch from safeway.
i had company in the evening (the rocker was given time to be at his house with his parents who were also leaving on wednesday). yes, we watched a bunch of news, but it was nice to have someone else to talk to.
monday night, mom had dinner with mar and boo. apparently, baseball has already started, so mom sat and watched jacob practice. then they ate dinner.
tuesday night, mom joined andrea and i (plus her mom and friend) for girls night out. originally i wanted to go to zao noodle house in palo alto. i changed my mind when i realized that i wasn’t going to get there until after 6. that was no good. so we went to fiesta del mar too in downtown mountain view. i just love their food.
anyhoo, things were quiet so andrea’s mom asked what people thought about the martha stewart ruling. andrea said it had only gotten as far as it had because she was a woman. apparently andrea’s mom’s friend disagreed… then she told us that martha was arrogant, and got what she deserved. mom disagreed… then we got on politics, and mom got on her soap box. it was so funny. mom is so anti bush. she ranted for a bit, then apologised for ranting. i thought it was my mom, standing up for what she believed in.
the evening ended pretty quickly after that. i don’t think mom and andrea’s mom’s friend will be having dinner again any time soon.
now mom is gone. she won’t be back until july, if then. i miss her already.
