the melvins, the taxes and the sabercats…

this weekend was uber busy! i can’t believe how much i packed in!

friday, i got home from work and i made dinner. neither the rocker or i could decide what we wanted to eat, so i decided to grill up the steaks i had, and i made nachos. granted, i only had sharp cheddar cheese and chips. no sour cream, no guacomole… but i did have salsa, so that’s what i made. cheddar cheese nachos with steak. the rocker ate it up! it turned out much better than i expected!

then, we went over to santa cruz to see the melvins. now, i’ve never even heard the melvins before. i wasn’t sure what expected to see, let alone what i expected to hear. i asked the rocker to purchase ear plugs. he did… i was really pleased about it. he didn’t have to, but he did. smile

so, off to the catalyst we went, over the santa cruz mountains, at night. i think driving on over the mountains is a pain, but i did it, very slowly, with mr. passenger seat driver ensuring that i didn’t go faster than he wanted me to.

we got there a bit early, but not too early. we scoped out a quiet place, where he could see the stage clearly, yet sit the entire time. yes, his back continues to keep us from doing things i (we) want to do.

we got home really late, ok, really late for me, 1 am. i know, i’m a wimp. i was up at 10 am. i walked the dog, and decided to do the taxes. i hope i did them right. i think i might not be able to claim my student loan interest on my state taxes, but i did anyway. i think last year might have been the last year, but it might not have been. i think this year is the last year. i’d better remember next year. god forbid i get audited or something. then i did mom’s taxes. what a pain. she can’t file electronically because she has a w2 with no income on it. now i have to print everything, and fedex them to her for signature. what a pain.

then i took all my beautiful art to the frame store to get some frames. unfortunately, nothing was on sale. so, i went with cheap ones. big mistake, i’m going back to the frame store to return stuff, and get more expensive things. i’ve heard rumor that there is going to be a huge sale on the first of april, i just don’t think i’m going to make it that long. i’m on a mission to get my room done.

saturday night had the rocker and i getting a movie from blockbuster. we went to lucky chinese food for dinner. it was ok. we got pirates of the caribbean. it was an interesting movie, kept my interest, but i don’t see why johnny depp got an academy award nomination for his role. hmm. i guess i don’t see enough movies.

sunday morning, i woke up before 7 am. what a bummer. daisy and i took a really long walk around the neighborhood. when we got back, i watched mona lisa smile. now there was a movie i liked. i loved the costumes, i loved the cars, i loved the premise… what a good movie.

then, i made dinner. well, lunch. flank steak and baked potatoes. yummy stuff. the rocker ate a bagel 15 minutes before it was ready, that irritated me. but he did eat everything i put on his plate, so i guess i shouldn’t be upset.

then at 5 pm, was my favorite, the san jose saber cats! what an excellent game! the cats won, of course, 55 to 35. in the beginning, it looked like the crush had a chance, but no… we crushed them. AND, i got a jersey! i’m so excited! i’ve been wanting a jersey for years! and they finally had them at the sharks store. so i bought one. then i realized that it didn’t have a number. wait, no that’s not true. the rocker told me i didn’t have a number. what a bummer! now, i have to pick a number.

anyway… it was a wonderful weekend. i can’t wait for the next one.
