joining the gym

today i took my butt down to the event center and joined the gym. hmm. i’d still rather start with a trainer, but i can make lots of excuses why i shouldn’t go to the gym! i need to stop making excuses. so, now i’ve put my money where my mouth is, and i have to go. it would be a waste if i didn’t, right?

i start tomorrow at 7 (thats when they open)… i’m excited and scared all at the same time.

  1. Good for you…Dont be scared, you’ll do fine. I remember when I decided that I was going to the gym, I thought I would never make it and all the equipment scared the heck out of me, I seen the one thing I was familiar with…the excersize bike, I climb on and didnt get off until the milage read 10 miles. I felt great afterwards and couldnt wait to go back the next day, 6 months later I was 80 pounds lighter, all from riding the bike at the gym. I didnt even have to diet, it was great…well anyway, mostly I just wanted to say good luck.

  2. Good luck! I know it looks scarier than it is… The difficult bit (for me) is to keep going after the firts few session. So that’s why I keep and exercise diary.
I agree with cherry, it’s best to start with things you know, like the bike or the treadmill. They are just as effective as anything more terrifying looking!
