4 days and counting…

There is so much to talk about!

First, the appointment on Friday gave us very good news.  My little man is not 9.5 lbs, he is only 7 lbs 14 oz.  That means if he comes on his due date, he will be under 9 lbs.  Thank god.  I mean really, I’m just not thinking I can push out an almost 10 lb baby.  The doctor says that my boy is acting like a fat baby.  He is very high, although his head has been down for a month now.  However, he is not engaged.  He doesn’t feel like putting his chin on his chest and putting his head where it needs to go.  Every night John and I tell this little one to get out.  Every morning, I wake up to a high baby, not dropped at all.  I think he is just like his daddy.  He is taking his sweet time to do the thing that he needs to do.

So, there is walking.  Lots of walking…  At Stitches West, on Saturday.  Unfortunately, this baby had been sitting on my sciatic nerve, and so walking was hard. By the end of the day, my hip was numb…  It was weird.  Before we left John basically said that I could buy whatever I wanted.  I wasn’t planning on buying anything (honestly, my stash is quite large), but I found somethings that I just couldn’t pass up.  I got 2 skeins of Lornas Laces Heaven to make baby hats.  3 skeins of Chunky Malabrigo to make hats for my friend Anne’s kids.  A kit from Pick Up Sticks to make a felted ripple tote.  And finally one skein of Argosy Hand Painted Haiku 4 ply (55% silk, 45% cashmere) in Navy and Tan.  It’s so soft, and I’m going to make that cute little bag in this winters Interweave Knits Knitted Gifts.  I also got a ravelry tote bag for my knitting projects.  Or baby stuff.  Who knows.

I hadn’t planned on going to Stitches.  Really.  I wanted to take classes this time.  But with my due date when it was, I thought it was totally out for me.  I was so wrong.  I’m glad I went.  I got some much needed walking in, saw some beautiful yarn, talked with a knitting meetup friend, and had some one-on-one time with my mom.

We have just about finished the baby’s room.  Anne is going to give us a mattress for the crib, so we are just waiting for that…  I am going to put up all my animal pictures in there either today or tomorrow.  Then I just have a TON of clothes.  Anne has given me so many things, and I’m so glad to have them, I just don’t really have a place to store them.  She dropped off the 0-3 month stuff, and now she has given me the 3-6 month clothes.  I really have to get my bins together, so that everything is washed and ready to go, and all the same sizes are together.

John has been taking pictures on his camera, but I need to take some with mine.  Just to show off the room and my ever expanding baby belly (he really has popped out, so much so that only my pj’s are comfortable to wear).

I will say, I’m glad that I took the month off before, even though the disability sucks pay wise, I really was sick of being frustrated at work.  I’ve finally stopped talking about work.  Yeah.

Comments

  1. So close!

  2. Yay for the smaller (but still very healthy size) baby!  My sister-in-law gives birth to giants – all over 9 pounds, One, I believe over 10 – so yes it can be done.  But you won’t have to!

It was very nice to see you at Stitches!

  3. Hang tough there!!  Glad to hear you got some shopping at Stitches—I was around 35 weeks preggo at Stitches 2006 so I hear what you’re saying.
