Breast Cancer Crop - Day 2

Unfortunately, I missed day one of the Breast Cancer Crop at Scrapbook Island Saturday.  Granted, I was driving 5 on the way back from an awesome evening trick or treating with Sean on Friday…  But still, I was really looking forward to this crop.

I got in about 11:10, and didn’t get started until almost 12…  My first page, “Subway Ride”, I used the uber cool subway tape I bought on Etsy.  I’ve been dying to use it since I bought it.

I’ve got quite a few Studio Calico kits that I need to use, so I found this laser cut paper by Basic Grey and a piece of cardboard in one of the bags…  I wish I could remember which one, but it was an add on kit… then I added the tape, used Jillibean Soup corrugated letters and Basic Grey Oliver embellishments.  I was pretty sure that something was missing so I added a subtitle with So Sophie by My Minds Eye…  I added some bakers twine (and a bit of Bazzill cardstock behind the main title) and there you have it.  2 hours of my day!  I sure am happy about it.

Next, thanks to John bringing my pictures for me that I had forgotten, I started working on “Cleaning and Eating.”  I’m having a hard time doing layouots about food and Sean.  I’ve got so many and honestly, everyone eats…  And it seems like we were really concerned about him eating or not eating.  We just thought he was being cute or that it was funny that he was covered in food.  Go figure.

This time, back to April 2010 Studio Calico kit…  Bazzill cardstock, Core’dinations cardstock (which I sanded yeah!), 7 Gypsies and Basic Grey patterned paper…  My Mind’s Eye token and Basic Grey brads.  American Crafts Thickers and Basic Grey chipboard from my stash and then a Studio Calico stamp helped me with some lines.  I really like how it turned out.

One more fills out my time, and this took only an hour!  I know where did my time go?  Who knows.

“Just you” was so much fun!  I really inspired by the Sassafras Apple Jack paper, again April 2010 Studio Calico kit (I bought the paper from all the kits)!  First I thought I was going to use it as the background for this awesome picture of Sean…  Then I decided I wanted some color and didn’t want to cut this beautiful piece of Studio Calico paper…  So, I used the rest of the Core’dinations cardstock (and a bit of Bazzill cardstock too).  Then I decided to add a horizontal stripe with more Bazzill cardstock and and the strip of Studio Calico I had trimmed.  Then I saw the Studio Calico wood veneer from the March kit and I was in heaven!  I added some Sei letters and Maya Road chipboard buttons and there yoou have it.  I still may add some bakers twine to the button holes, I’ve not decided.

That brings us to 3 layouts and now it is 4:00 pm.  The crop was over at 5, so I decided to clean-up rather than having to stop mid thought.  I hate that.  I had a good time, but the time was way too short.

I wanted to show you one more layout that I did last week, that I love.  I bought the paper in the 99 cent scrapbooking supplies at Target.  The Making Memories glitter frame was on clearance, as were the flocked brads also by Making Memories…  The Girls Paperie and Cosmo Cricket gave me the letters (love the tiny type letters, really I do)!  I LOVE this page.  So clean, and I love the white.  Thanks to Don and Lisa for providing the photos and the great birthday party!
