as mentioned earlier this week, the rock-a-billly god, mr. deke dickerson was in town at the blank club last night. i called around to the usual suspects, but no one felt like going out. so, i was told, in no uncertain terms (gotta love stephen, directing me from bakersfield) that i had better get my butt to san jose. and thus, i did. the opening band was good. i was pleasantly surprised. they played old standards (frank sinatra, the andrews sisters, etc) with a much faster tempo. i wish … [Read more...]
