so last night i had the, oh i don’t know, should i actually say it, pleasure of watching madonna french brittney and christina on the mtv video music awards. (go fish references wizbang, who has pictures of the whole thing)
ok, i admit it… i was shocked. mom was like, what are they doing? i had to call stephen. he wasn’t impressed. but, i’m thinking that it was done for the pure shock value. and it did shock. i think the look on justin timberlake’s face was more of, “could you get the camera off of my face” than “my ex is frenching madonna on that stage”. i think the kisses were much better than jacko and lisa marie. i mean, it was a bit more sexual (anything was more sexual than that kiss, don’t you think?).
as the evening rolled on, i became more and more bored with the whole thing. i mean really, snoop came with girls on leash, some idiot was waving vodka behind an interview, and 50 cent was talking about dog fighting. and, lets just say, mom was not impressed with the HUGE amount of cleavage that was being sported by all the female musicians (she went to bed shortly after the kiss).
i think i’m getting too old to watch the vma’s. when did this happen? i remember when mtv didn’t have commercials. i remember my favorite video was played 5 or six times a day (video _did not_ kill the radio star, it just made them more accessible). wait, was that was 20 years ago? oh, my god. i am old. i think they must have the dates wrong.
