So much to talk about!

On Saturday, mom, John and I went to Watsonville to my cousin Angie’s baby shower.  She is due in December, sometime.  The doctor keeps changing her date on her.  I gave her the elaine hooded sweater that I made last month.  It’s super cute, and of all my baby projects, it’s actually finished.  She adored it, thank god.  I was a bit worried.  My dad was also at the shower, but he really isn’t well.  Apparently, he is having gallbladder issues, and his bile ducts are clogged?  He has to have surgery on Friday.  My aunt Dee is going to be there with him so that I can save my sick time for when the baby comes.  That is very nice of her.  I might leave early anyway, or go just go up at lunch and not come back.

After the shower, we went to Santa Cruz and met my nephew for dinner at this Irish pub.  We had a really nice time, and he told us all about the girl he just broke up with.  It is quite interesting listening to him tell his stories.  He wants to be a film producer.  I hope that he studies hard, and becomes really successful.  Then he will make sure that we are all comfortable.  smile  That would be cool, wouldn’t it?

After we got back to San Jose, I found a letter from my secret pal in my mail box!  I was so excited!  I love getting her letters, and I always feel so special when I read them.  She was telling me all about her upcoming Thanksgiving meal with her sister, and her friends birthday.  I just love hearing about what’s going on in her life.  Mine is so boring in comparison.

Then yesterday, when I got home, guess what was waiting for me?  A box.  You know it.  I let it sit by the door.  It was driving John a bit crazy.  He really wanted to see what was in there.  I knew how tired I was, and I wanted to rest a bit before I opened it.  You know, being pregnant makes you super tired.  On top of that, I’m really sleeping like crap lately.  Daisy was up like 3 times last night, and I had to bring her back into bed.  Poor Daisy.

Anyway, back to the box.  I finally told John, “why don’t you go get the box for me” and he went and got it for me.  We sat on the couch together and opened it.  He read the letter, and described what my pal wrote about each item.  She wrapped everything in pink again.  I just love pink!

So the first thing I opened wasn’t really wrapped.  It is a hand crocheted wash cloth/dish washer!  My pal made it herself!  I’ve been thinking that I should knit washcloths, and then I’m like, why?  So I don’t.  Isn’t it beautiful, and PINK!

Let’s see, what did I find next?  Size 11 BAMBOO NEEDLES!  Which I totally needed.  I’m working on a baby sweater on 11’s and I want to start blanket #2 with the Heaven, and I can’t because I don’t have two pair of size 11 needles, well, now I do!  I’m so excited to start!

Then it was time for the Christmas music, which I LOVE.  I don’t know if you all know this, but I have TONS of Christmas music.  My pal found a CD that I don’t have yet.  How cool is that!

Then I found some Warm Vanilla Sugar lotion (I use the body wash almost daily, ok when I’m not using Philosophy’s Sticky Bun).  Which I totally need because I’m really dry right now.

And some PINK m&m’s.  Ok, I love pink candy.  Have you tried the pink peppermint patties?  Yummy.  I won’t be sharing these.

Then came the part that John couldn’t wait for me to open.  He was directing me as I went, open this next, then that.  He pointed to the side with the unwrapped things…  Finally I got to the made by my pals MOM, blanket, bib and burp cloths.  All made of yellow flannel, with the most beautiful crocheted edging.  I almost cried.  It’s so beautiful.  And, it is the first thing that someone else made for the baby.  It is a WONDERFUL treat, and I love it!

After that, I was surprised that there was more in that box!  But there was, an Itty Bitty Nursery book!  It has the cutest patterns!  I can’t wait to make something out of it!

I told John that I was sure my pal spent too much money!  I just love everything!  I can not thank my Secret Pal enough.  She is so wonderful, and knows EXACTLY what I like.  She really is the best pal ever!

Just for fun…  Here is the bump I have, as of last night, right before bed.  Not that I’ve shared before, but I’m getting big, at least I think so!

Yay! I’m so glad you liked everything. By the way,I’m the queen of stalking sales at stores. My friends say that I’m a power shopper. The circular needle size was a lucky guess, I just picked one of the sizes that I use a lot on various projects.
