LOAD218 – Day 6

Some days, I have mojo.  Some days, I don’t.  I had no mojo today.  I hate that.  Last night I picked papers and photos for my LO, so that when I was fresh this morning, I could just pick up and finish.  Yep.  It was supposed to be easy.  Sigh.

This LO is about the Continental Divide at Hoosier Pass in Colorado.  It was a geeky moment for me for sure.  We were driving on Colorado Highway 9 on our way to the Florissant Fossil Beds, just outside of Colorado Springs. The drive had been beautiful up until this point. Outstanding really.  When I saw the sign and IMMEDIATELY stopped the car.  I mean really, how many times are in your life are you actually crossing the Continental Divide (well, I crossed several times this trip, but this was the first).

I was so excited, I called my husband, and then I called my dad.  Neither were really as geeked out as I was, but so what.  It was my moment.

We were not the only geeky people excited to cross and take pictures.  And not only did we take pictures of ourselves, we took pictures of other geeked out people!  We took pictures of a woman and her father. Then we took pictures of a guy riding his bike across the country. It’s amazing how a little geeky moment could bring so many people together.

Sean spent some time crawling around in the woodsy area that surrounded the parking lot.  He found a big stick that he brought with him. I’m pretty sure it made it home. It was so nice to get out of the car and just do nothing.

So, the story part, easy peasy.  I mean really, It’s a great story.  I have no idea what happened.  I dragged this out, and dragged it out.  Maybe it’s because I moved my embellishments into the other room and I miss them.  Maybe it’s because I’ve been cranky for days.  But here we are.  It’s a fine LO.  It’s not even boring.  I used some Stampin’ Up paper I bought at Expo this summer, and a sticker from the kit.  Little Yellow Bicycle tree stick pins, a Studio Calico leaf and some wood veneers, including the 9 for highway 9.  Awesome Thickers…  For a the first real title I’ve done this LOAD.  Maybe that was the issue.  I tried to make hidden journaling.  Ha.  Didn’t work today.  I put it on the back.  And, I pulled out my stash of Hambly’s Screen Prints.  I love that stuff.  I have a stash.  I don’t want to talk about the factory closing sale, and how much of a stash I have.  Shhh.

Do you have days where things just aren’t going how you want them too?  How do you work through it?
