Shopping for Elaine

So, I think I mentioned in an earlier post that I had this really cute pattern for a baby sweater made from Schaefer Elaine.  Yeah, I did.  It was in my car, somewhere, without a plastic sleeve.  Poor form, I know.  John cleaned the car, and the pattern is gone.  It might have been gone before, but I don’t like to blame myself, so lets go with John.

I had a hissey fit, yelled at him about cleaning my car, and made him promise to take me to the yarn store to buy the pattern again…

You see, I had bought 2 skeins of Elaine, one that is green tones and one that is primary colors.  Perfect for the baby, regardless of the fact that we have no idea what the sex is.  Without a pattern, I was screwed…  It meant that the pregnant lady had to cry, while taking out the trash, so that the neighbors could see.  Very pretty, I was, in my jammies and everything, sobbing in the driveway.  Not my finer moment to say the least.

So, Saturday, we went up to Castro Valley to Adelas Yarn to get the pattern.  You know what I did?  I bought ANOTHER skein of Elaine!  It’s so beautiful!  The colorway is Snoops, and it’s pastel pink, purple, green, yellow with a bit of white.  John said it wasn’t too girly.  If it is, I’ll just give it to a girl baby (if we have a boy).

I’m about 1/2 done with the sweater, and it’s so cute.  I just wish I didn’t knit so slow!  Just like my typing, it’s just slowed way the hell down!

Pictures soon, I promise!
