I got a letter!

Lookie what my SP11 sent me, a really long letter!  It’s so awesome!  I learned so much about her, and I really liked that.  She sounds so cool!  She works at 2 year old Rowyn’s favorite place, when he finds out, he is going to be begging her for some tractor swag!  Her company was the theme of his birthday party!  So cool! Thank you so much, I was utterly surprised, and honestly, I just love getting mail!  I can’t wait to see what comes … [Read more...]

Well…  the test was as expected

Lets just say this…  I do have MONGO baby.  The baby measured in at a whopping 15 weeks old, an entire week ahead of schedule.  So, I got my finger pricked, and had a pretty uncomfortable ultrasound to determine that yes, the baby was too big to do the measurements against, and therefore, there is no way to do the statistical analysis. What does this mean?  I have to have the amnio.  I don’t want the amnio, it’s going to hurt, it’s going to be … [Read more...]

Today is the Nuchal translucency screening

I’m getting both excited and nervous for this test this afternoon.  First, they are going to poke my finger.  I hate that.  I’m not a good blood giving patient, and I’m really not looking forward to this.  I think they should have to poke John’s finger too.  That would make it fair, right?  But no, they only care about MY blood.  Second, the test is supposed to be given between 11 and 14 weeks.  By Dr. Jaki’s calculations, … [Read more...]

I’m on Ravelry!

I can’t believe it!  I finally have an account…  Now if I could only find a picture of me that I like.  Maybe I should use the baby picture.  I’m working on putting things in, but I know it’s going to take a while!  So today, I just put in a fraction…  I think that I’ll work in waves.  Some books today, next I’ll work on my stash.  Oh yeah, want to make me a friend?  It’s DaisyDo! … [Read more...]

Hey, this is helpful!  Ok, maybe

I keep losing my Chibi bent tip jumbo darning needles.  I really could use some more.  I find them, then lose them.  They are currently lost, and I hate that because they work well with my felting projects. On a unrelated note, I had a handful of peanut butter m&m’s for breakfast.  The baby is not happy.  Won’t I ever learn my lesson? … [Read more...]

Feeling bad

So this week, I’ve been scouring my SP’s blog to see what she likes to knit, what she doesn’t like to knit, what she has said she wanted in the past…  You know, general ideas on how to spoil her best.  Then I thought about my own blog…  and if it was any help at all to MY pal.  I’m beginning to think no.  It’s not like I’m a sock knitter.  That makes things super easy, I think.  I’m just not.  And the … [Read more...]

One skein wonders!

I know I mentioned I’ve not been knitting lately, because, well, I feel like crap.  Monday night I decided that I was going to start working on a UFO.  I had started the “Shop ‘till you Drop” bag for my Aunt Connie LAST summer.  I’m using the hemp, in periwinkle.  It is almost 3/4 the way done, and the only reason why I stopped was because I lost my place.  So, I guessed what row I was on (I was wrong), ripped out about 7 or 8 rows, and … [Read more...]

SP11 Questions (ok, more questions)

1.  What is the one knitting accessory you could not live without? Hmm…  I’d say there are two of them.  I love my swift and my winder.  They make life so much easier! 2.  If you’re heading on vacation, do you take knitting with you?  If so, how much and what type of project? I normally do.  I take something that does not require a lot of thought, like a scarf.  I always try to bring enough to complete 2.  Always hoping that I will … [Read more...]

Pretty, Pretty handspun from Gotland

One of the things I love to do on vacation is find some handspun yarn from the region or country. Did I hit the jackpot at Sticka.  Sticka is this absolutely lovely little yarn store in Gamla Stan, the old town of Stockholm.  John and I found this store on DAY 1 of the honeymoon.  It was good, and bad, all at the same time.  First, it was such a cute little store, with such an AWESOME selection.  I was just like a kid in a candy store, regardless of the morning sickness … [Read more...]
