All I can say is, I did the amino…

So…  Friday.  I was a wreck.  Really, I was.  I told the first girl I talked to that I really suggest we do the amino first, because I’m going to fall apart.  I really don’t do the needle things well…  Because I always try to have a sense of humor, I think that people really don’t believe me.  They told me that not only does the amino happen last, I had to have the RH- shot in my booty afterwards.  Let’s just say this, I did it all.  I cried a BUNCH, had some hysterics, and was very disappointed after that I had such a hard time psyching myself up to do it.  I hate that I let my fear get the best of me.

All that aside, the baby looks totally normal.  It’s measuring 17 weeks and a few odd days.  It has huge feet.  We saw all the fingers and all the toes.  No need for counting later, they are all there.  Because we didn’t want to know what it was, we still don’t know.  I thought I saw something down there, but I’ve been told it’s really just the cord.  I really hope that’s right.  As much as I want a healthy baby, I really would like a girl.  I think it will be OK either way.  But I’m glad I’ve been knitting unisex.

I’m still very achy today, I’ve been crampy, which is totally normal.

Here is my “amino stash.”  I know I could have got more, but this is really plenty for now.  I have some Rowan All Seasons Cotton, Rowan Denim, RYC Cashsoft 4-ply and Blue Sky Alpacas Cotton.

And, here is the cute little pattern that my SP11 sent me!  I got the Cashsoft to use to make it.  The Alpaca is totally expensive, and not really machine washable.  Ok, so I’m implying the Cashsoft was cheap, not the case, it’s just machine washable.  smile

  1. I’m glad it’s over.  Now…that it is over…was it as bad as you thought?  Or did the hysterics get the best of you and it was as bad?

I don’t remember mine being terrible and I can be a pretty big chicken myself.

    Glad you got a present.

  2. Yay! I’m glad the amino is done. Things like that can be so scary. And I’m glad the baby is healthy – the most important thing really.
