September Design Team Project

This month I was so lucky to get two (2) projects.  Queen & Co. Magic Memories and Simple Stories Harvest Lane.

Let’s start with our Queen & Co. Disney project…  It was so fitting with my recent trip to Disneyland.  Honestly, I should have posed the pictures.  This time we decided to really use the Disney photographers.  Some times we don’t, but I really wanted a Christmas picture, so I said that every time we saw a photographer we should get our pictures taken.  So, we did.  We got one.  Just one.  But dang with a 4.5 year old and me, one is good!

Disney Shadowbox LO #1

This month Laurie decided to hit me with a shadow box.  The first thing I thought was… What a great place to house a bunch of LOs and then rotate them, as you saw fit.  So, I started with LOs.  I worked with them thinking about the fact that I really only had an 8×8 hole to look through.  It was kinda fun thinking about each page with this huge border…  Making the pages look good alone, and then within the context of the shadow box.

Next, I got the Simple Stores Harvest Lane line.  You know I love singles.  I do such few doubles.  I started out thinking that I loved the branch with the little bird.  I thought it needed to be on wood.  So, I pulled out my Studio Calico wood veneer (which I love) and things when from there.  I’ve been wanting to try out random stitching on a page for a while, and it just fits here.  I’m happy.

For this one, I was really wanting to use my Pumpkin Jack.  I know he is old, but I don’t care…  He is so darn cute!  Then I was thinking about a fence, and how cute it would look.  Then I remembered back to a May Flaum class I took where she talked about paper weaving…  I made up some strips, and honestly, it just came.  I love it when the come like that.  Working without photos is so hard, but I love this one.
