Tonight I started my kick boxing class. I don't know what possessed me, but I said, hey, I need kick boxing. So, I went, and I did it. And I'm damn tired. But after all that exercise, I couldn't figure out dinner. So, I had a tuna sandwich and Ben & Jerry's Everything but the... ice cream. Yummy. I would imagine that I put all the calories that I worked off right back in. Oh well. I'll ride some more off tomorrow. I'm trying hard to get back on the diet thing. Hmph. With things at … [Read more...]
Another weekend, another haul!
This weekend was the deco show. Normally I forget about the deco show, and remember the week after it happens. This year, I didn't forget, and I got Miz K to go with me. Miz K works down the hall from me. I was surprised she wanted to go, but I'm always up for company. I really was on a mission for things for the house. I wanted to find some cool artwork for the living room. I also needed some knick-knacks. I have this built-in book case that needs to be filled. When we finally got up … [Read more...]
I had a date with not one but TWO married men!
Tonight, I was on a mission. I needed to purchase a gas grill. I put one on hold last night at Target. Who would have known that I couldn't take a gas grill home when I wanted to. I picked a big grill, one that wouldn't fit in the car, and weighed 200 lbs. The guy laughed at me when I told him I had a 4 door sedan with no help at home. He said, get some help, and I'll have it waiting for you up front. Lucky for me, Missey Andrea's husband drives a truck. He lets me borrow it every when I … [Read more...]
I have smart family!
I've known for a very long time that my cousin Cindy's son Toren was smart. A long time. When my mom and I went to Germany in 1997, you could see it. He was bilingual, German and English. He was doing very well in the German schools, surpassing all of the teachers expectations. On top of all that, he played soccer, and other european sports. He is just an all around, well rounded kid. About a month ago, Toren got into Georgetown. Not only did he get in, he got a full scholarship. No … [Read more...]
Shoes, glorious shoes!
For weeks I've been dying to go shoe shopping. DYING. I'd spent a ton of time at the John Fluevog website, and I decided I needed to go to the Haight and check things out. So Saturday, I drove up to the Haight. I got there at 11:00 am. Right after the stores opened. It was a glorious day. Mid-seventies, bright blue sky... Seriously, I couldn't have asked for a better day. I got a parking space! That was the best part. Parking in the Haight is a nightmare. I got a space 2 blocks from … [Read more...]
what the *uck?
There are days in my life when I'm absolutely sure what I'm doing and why. There are others when I'm sure I'm insane, and I wonder what the *uck I'm doing. The grad school thing is one of those what the *uck am I doing. I know that I'm going to get something out of it someday, but right now, I swear to god I'm going to kill someone before I'm done with the degree. It's a very hard thing for me. I hate it when I feel like I'm doing busy work. The two classes I took this semester felt like … [Read more...]
Cause I’m a blonde, yeah, yeah, yeah!
My mom says it is June Bug season. You know the June Bug? It's the big, black bug that looks an awful lot like a roach. When I lived in Texas, we called them water roaches. Black bugs, almost 2 inches long who ran toward you rather than away from you. I'm scared of these bugs. They really freak me out. Every once in a while I would see them outside at my old house. But, never inside. NEVER. Since I've been here, I've seen two in my backyard. Eww. Yucky. Once made it into my bedroom. … [Read more...]
10 things I’ve done that you haven’t
I saw this over at Poise.cc, Cinamion thought it was a good one, do do I. So... 1. Worked at See's Candies over a period of 6 months, and got away with wearing pig tails every day. 2. … [Read more...]
Harvesting eggs
So, today in Daily Candy (well the dedicated email for SF Daily Candy), the topic was harvesting your eggs and saving them for the future. It's interesting that this is the topic after last nights innuendos. I've been going back and forth on the child thing for years. But in the end, I always hoped that I would find the right guy for me, and dropped it. With all the babies in my group of friends right now, it's really hard to deny that I'd like child... Miss Lisa told me last night I should … [Read more...]
Daisy asks me questions!
I think I'm supposed to offer to ask others questions now. Bring it on people! Thanks Daisy! You've just moved into a new home... what do you miss most about your previous home? I miss Brendan, Tess and Kayla. I also miss Carol and Sue. I really only miss the people. And the dishwasher. I miss the dishwasher. The one at the new house sucks. Tell me about the very first love of your life and the lessons that it taught you. The first love of my life. That's hard. Do I tell you about … [Read more...]
