what a wonderful weekend in davis! even though the morning started off a bit later than i thought, i arrived by 2:30 pm. cinder’s new place is really cute. very high ceilings… everything is new, cheap but new. the bedrooms are a nice size, and the bathroom is huge! the only thing she really needs now is a washer and dryer. i think it has the hook-ups. she also needs a ton more storage! but it’s really a cute place! when i got there, we decided to take a trip and go to borders… she pre-ordered the new harry potter book. i looked at books, but you know me and books. i tried really hard, and i was good. no book purchase for me. i am, however still dying to buy nigella’s forever summer. yes, they had it… notice the shear will power on my part…
then, we took a walk downtown davis… so many cute stores. i was so good! there was a radio station out doing a promotion, so we waited around to see if we could win $500. no, we didn’t win. bummer. but cinder got movie passes to take the kids to see sinbad. that’s not too bad.
the decision was then made to go to the movies. i think we both wanted to see the italian job, but alex and emma was at a better time for us. BAD MOVIE. lets just say that luke wilson was as flat as a chalk board. i don’t even think i would see it again on video, it was that bad. cinder and i wished that we had figured out something else to do and seen the italian job. oh well.
we then decided to go to chipotle for dinner. i’d never been there before, even though now i know there is one on the el camino in sunnyvale. they have these really good burritos, and they are HUGE. honestly, it was mighty tasty. actually i had a really bad food weekend with cinder. not that she was bad. i had 2 scoops of ice cream while waiting for the radio thing. bad gwen.
back to davis… so we picked up our yummy burritos, and took them back to the house, where we watched kissing jessica stein (not for us), secretary (kinda strange), and the ring (who knows, i was sleeping by then)… is that right? i’m thinking that’s right. cinder and i did not do well picking movies.
sunday morning brought real women have curves, a very cute movie that we watched while waiting for my thyroid medicine so i could eat. then we had bakers square for breakfast and home i went. what an awesome weekend. i didn’t realize how much i needed to get away… and how much i needed to talk about the boy situation. i don’t think i shut-up except when we were in the movie theatre!
good thing cinder loves me!

Look who’s talking…
