dusty 45’s here i come

the rocker and i swich off being social coordinator on date night. saturday it was my turn.

i heard from the astrofiend that the dusty’s were going to be in town. i checked it out and decided that this date night, we were going to see the dusty’s.

there are lots of good reasons to see the dusty 45’s. one, they play an awesome mix of surf and roots rock. most of which is their own music. two, billy, the lead singer is really cute (they all dress the part as well). and three, billy lights his trumpet at the end of the show and plays it while it is on fire!

the rocker was up for the show, so we went.

little did i know that the rocker was having back issues.

we ended up going to su hong for dinner. it wasn’t great. but the company was good. smile then we drove up to the city. we got there early. i always get everywhere early.

we watched the first two bands. the first was real hillbilly music. the band wasn’t bad, and i think mr. tucker would have really liked it. the second band was more pot music. yep. that is the way i want to describe it. pot music. they sang about getting high. and drinking. very country sounding.

by the time the dusty’s got on stage it was almost 12. i didn’t know this, but by this point he could barely move.

i, of course, was enjoying myself… the dusty’s were putting on a great show, and they were on. then they offered up free promotional cd’s. i ran back to get one. i asked the rocker if he would go get one to give to mr. tucker. he gave me a million and one reasons why he shouldn’t go get one. then i said, come on honey… it’s right by the bathroom, it’s no big deal. and i watched my boy hobble back there to get the free cd.

when he got back, i told him we were leaving. i had no idea that his pain had gotten that bad.

i got almost an hour of the dusty’s. it was a great show. i’m glad we went, i just wish that my boy hadn’t been in pain.
