Oh Gossamer Blue, how I love you…

I can't tell you how much fun I had with this months Gossamer Blue kit.  I loved just about every element, and was so excited to get started. My first LO with this November 2012 kit was a picture I've been hording for months.  I love the quiet calmness of this photo.  You know that Sean was busy.  The cars are there.  But for the first time ever, on July 1, 2012, Sean passed out on the couch.  It had never happened before.  He hates naps.  But here he is, asleep on the couch.  The papers just … [Read more...]

Scrapbook Island DT Project Oct/Nov 2012

This month, I got a bulging pizza box.  It was beyond bulging.  It was a great big bulging pizza box.  Inside were the AWESOME Studio Calico Wonderland papers and embellishments.  Then, I saw what was causing the bulge...  A beautiful Handbook with chevrons...  And 5 packages of inserts.  What I really saw was a December Daily project staring back at me.   I was overwhelmed.  December Daily's are time consuming.  And knowing I wanted to do my own, and how much time it was going to take...  Oh … [Read more...]

Random Craftiness

So this week I found out that I had to do 4 layouts in order to get a free album from Gossamer Blue.  I thought it was 3, and I thought it was three "projects."  Bah.  Luckily I figured this out before the deadline, and whipped this baby out.   I've been working on a HUGE project for Scrapbook Island, and I was thinking Christmas...  Can you tell?  I also haven't printed any fall photos, which makes fall papers hard.  But, I think this worked out beautifully with some white Mr. … [Read more...]

Pre-K Crafts for Old Orchard K1 class

One of things I love about Sean's new school is...  Miss Katie!  She is so patient and really would love parent participation.  One thing I really wanted to be able to participate in is Sean's Halloween Party.  But because I drove to the Pumpkin Patch last week, I had to give up volunteering Wednesday. But, one thing I can do is plan their crafts!  So craft number one...  A spooky egg carton spider with pipe cleaner legs.  What an easy craft.  I cut the egg cartons apart, added 8 holes on … [Read more...]

Gossamer Blue October Kit

This weekend was the Crop Pink Crop at Scrapbook Island.  It is one of my favorite crops at the Island, as they auction off layouts, cards, and projects that have been on display at the store...  and that people have donated especially for the crop. I had a great time, and was grateful that I had my new Gossamer Blue October kit with me.  I figured that I was going to work exclusively with this kit, because, well, I LOVE it.  I'm so glad that I decided to give the club a try.  So worth my … [Read more...]

Mohawk time!

Sometimes I wonder about my boy.  He has stopped wanting baths, and wants showers.  No biggie.  It's just someone has to be in there with him.  Normally I let John take care of it, but this week, I did it.  When I wash his hair, I like to give him what I call a sudsy mohawk.  When we showered this time, he wanted to keep the mohawk after the shower was over.  This is what we ended up with.  I'm thinking he is ready for his own band...  What a guy! … [Read more...]

Gossamer Blue September Kit

How fun is Lori's new kit club Gossamer Blue!  I met Lori years ago at National Scrapbook Day at Scrapbook Island.  I was new to scrapbooking, and to my delight, she and her friend Debbie sat at my table.  They both worked on projects, while I worked on LOs, but I could see how creative she was.  Shortly there after she joined Lilly Bee's design team.  She was talking about doing a kit club way back then, and I'm so pleased that she finally has! My first take, I was trying to do a Pink … [Read more...]

September Design Team Project

This month I was so lucky to get two (2) projects.  Queen & Co. Magic Memories and Simple Stories Harvest Lane. Let's start with our Queen & Co. Disney project...  It was so fitting with my recent trip to Disneyland.  Honestly, I should have posed the pictures.  This time we decided to really use the Disney photographers.  Some times we don't, but I really wanted a Christmas picture, so I said that every time we saw a photographer we should get our pictures taken.  So, we did.  We got … [Read more...]

August Scrapbook Island Design Team Project

This month I was lucky to get Authentique "Curiosity" in my design team box. It's a really cute line, and I love the teal and yellow with the gray, black, and cream. I was given a really cute little mini book to work with by October Afternoon. I really loved the "PLAY" that was laser cut in the front of the book. I thought that the best way to deal with it, and ensure that it was in focus was to paint it a gray color. I then backed it with the teal. It still seemed dark, so I filled it with … [Read more...]

Lots of work done at the expo!

I went to Scrapbook Expo knowing that I wanted to do a ton of work.  Well, I’m a really slow worker…  Add the chatting and the eating and the “farting around” and I get a LO done every 3 hours or so.  Ridiculous, I know.  However, I had a BLAST with Lisa, Lei, and Serena!  I would have done more, but we got our Design Team box on Saturday afternoon, and I spend the morning putting a album “kit” together for a coworker of John’s. Next week I’m going to start working on getting my new WordPress … [Read more...]
