the friday five

1. Are you going to school this year?
i honestly thought about it, but decided not to. with the summer as weird as it was, and then all that’s going on at home it’s a good thing i didn’t. daisy and mom were both sick on the first day of school.

2. If yes, where are you going (high school, college, etc.)? If no, when did you graduate?
i graduated from san jose state university in may 1997. i hold a bs in business, management information systems.

3. What are/were your favorite school subjects?
i adored trig… but ceramics takes a high second.

4. What are/were your least favorite school subjects?
i took this upper division california government class. it was the worst mistake ever. i really enjoyed the professor (who now is the political advisor on channel 11), and i learned a bunch, BUT… i was a last semester senior and i could have cared less about the class. it was at 7:30 am, and i think i slept most of the time. i was so happy to have my c.

5. Have you ever had a favorite teacher? Why was he/she a favorite?
i think i never really had a favorite teacher. i went to an open school for the elementary years, and teachers were more like mentors than teachers. with all the different high schools, it was hard to have a favorite, i was never there long enough to make many relationships.

when i went back to college to get my degree, i really loved all of my mis professors. professor dewitz got me my job at sjsu. professor welter was my database professor. he was a very good man. he was also very fair and honest. professor bernstein made me feel like i walked on water, even though i was confused most days. these three people made a huge impact, and continue to do so in my life today.
