Mini Load July 2020 – Day 1

Oh did I need today. Today, John rode his bike into work. Today, Sean went to a friends house, and stayed all day. Today, I went to Starbucks and got tea, and played Pokemon, and wasn't bothered by anyone. No phone calls. No what's for lunch. No nothing. It felt so normal. Now I get to worry about Sean getting something. I hope not. I am not worried about school. The teachers union put an end to that, thank god. It's not that I don't care about those families who work, I do. But, … [Read more...]

LOAD520 – Day 12

What a day. You know when your kid punches a hole in the wall, you think about things. So, I made bagels. Well, I started bagels. I started Anadama bread too, but that was just soaking polenta. I made the bagel dough, shaped the bagels and refrigerated them. I made chicken pot pie for dinner. It was good, but the crust was going to kill me. We almost went out. I got a grip. I did not punch a hole in the wall. I did go out and play Pokemon Go for a little bit. Not too long. The … [Read more...]

LOAD520 – Day 7

Today I continue to be shocked by people. Seriously. People all over Facebook who seemingly just read the headline, and some how get their panties all in a bunch about something that has been true for a long time. It happens all the time, but today it's bothering me. I know it shouldn't. Oh well. This is why the layout is later today. I kept going down rabbit holes about "The Man." Abbey LOAD Day 7: Please, Please MeStory: Please ____________ (fill in the blank)Technique: Grammar … [Read more...]

LOAD520 – Day 4

One of my favorite parts of LOAD is signing up to be a guest designer. I love getting the prompt early, taking my time, thinking hard, and really making a special LO. I do things I don't normally do. This time was no different. Abbey LOAD Day 4: I Saw Her Standing There. Story: Tell the story of an original vs. a reproduction/copy. Technique: Scraplift a layout! I must tell you that the email I got included the script that Alice was going to use for that video. She referenced Tiffany … [Read more...]

Gearing up for LOAD519

I just love LOAD. It brings me so much joy. Last LOAD, I got sick, just about 2 weeks in. I did a LO for day 12, but, I didn't even post that day. I'm just a wimpy sick person. So, I asked for a LO again this LOAD, and I got day 12 again. I must be a day 12 kind of girl. I am so excited about the prompt. I'm not going to share it. I'll share it on Day 12. But, because I am so excited, I'm going to write my post. Actually, I'm going to post it on May 12 so I can tell you on the … [Read more...]

LOAD218 – Day 6

Some days, I have mojo.  Some days, I don't.  I had no mojo today.  I hate that.  Last night I picked papers and photos for my LO, so that when I was fresh this morning, I could just pick up and finish.  Yep.  It was supposed to be easy.  Sigh. This LO is about the Continental Divide at Hoosier Pass in Colorado.  It was a geeky moment for me for sure.  We were driving on Colorado Highway 9 on our way to the Florissant Fossil Beds, just outside of Colorado Springs. The drive had been beautiful … [Read more...]

LOAD218 – Day 2

Today prompt had three choices, the first one, I was confused about.  The second one, use tiny elements, was interesting.  The third one, use a galaxy theme on your layout, automatically appealed to me! On this massive trip that Sean and I took this summer, we visited Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve.  WHAT A PLACE.  Words really do not do it justice.  Lucky me!  This place really met the galaxy theme! I didn't really talk about process yesterday, but today is a great day to … [Read more...]

LOAD 218 – Day 1

Today's prompt, "what unexpected path have you taken," works so well with my project for this LOAD.  Sean and I went on a HUGE summer vacation in 2017.  We drove from California to Michigan.  We then drove back to California, picking up John and seeing National Parks all across the Western United States. There were lots of unexpected paths that we took along the way, but the most unexpected path was the Herbert Hoover National Historic Site, in Iowa.  We had no idea that we were going here. … [Read more...]
