Looks like the rush is over, and we are back to normal. Yay! Lain challenged us today to talk about our bedtime routines. I don’t remember hugs and kisses, like Sean gets every night, but I do remember the 8:00pm bedtime. I hated it. I was sure there was so much going on in the house after I went to bed.
But, in our house, we didn’t have to go to sleep. We could be quietly in our rooms for as late as we wanted. So, I would read. I read tons! I would wake up with books in my hands. One thing I do remember about my childhood is that I was always reading.
I found this photo of me in my pj’s in Mom and Dad’s bedroom when I was 11 or so. I thought it worked really well for the prompt. Surprisingly, there doesn’t seem to be any photos of me reading. Oh well. As Lain tells us, you don’t need a picture of you doing the activity to tell your story.
In my stash busting, I have been pulling out the Gossamer Blue kits that I have in hiding. While I was so sick, I wasn’t scrapping, so I have like 5 kits that I never really touched. So, I used the Gossamer Blue December 2013 kit with this LO. The only thing I added was some lace tape. Things I’ve been seeing a lot of is layering OVER the photo in the LOAD gallery. I decided I’d give it a try, and I think this photo overlay works so well with the photo. It brings that teal accent over the orange, which makes it a more brown color. It’s not as severe as some of the layering I’ve seen, but this isn’t a severe photo. I’m happy with my results.
Do you have a night time routine that you remember? What is your favorite book? Are you stash busting?
