Should I make a pair of socks for the knitting olympics?

Ok, so here is the deal… I’m very intrigued about doing the Knitting Olympics. I’m really interested in doing something that would be challenging to me, that would be fun… So here is the scoop.

  • I have the yarn to make this sweater in a pretty gray or lilac (ok, so not very challenging, but pretty).
  • I have some twinkle-toes sock yarn in pink that my SP4 sent me, that I’ve never used (and ya’ll know I have an aversion to knitting socks, maybe I could make lacy socks.).
  • I have enough Rowan Kid Soft to knit at least 6 sweaters, but would look pretty as Danica (I’ve always wanted to try entrelac)
  • I ordered 10 skeins of Rowan Summer Tweed in a beautiful indigo color (I have no idea what I want to do with it, but my sp7 lost a rainy day scarf, so i thought i would make one to replace it with it and that only takes 3 balls at the most)
  • I have some pretty limeade color yarn in merino…
  • I have a TON of green aran yarn that I bought on the Aran Islands… (and I’ve already made on cable knit sweater with it)

The point is this… One, I have no idea what to knit for the Knitting Olympics. Two, I want to try to use yarn that I have (or is on it’s way). ‘cause you know, I’m cheap like that.

So, My spoilee from SP6, Elaine did a survey of what people thought she should try… I’m going to do that too.

You can choose from any of the yarns I’ve listed here, and pick a pattern that will work. Or hell, even pick a pattern that you think would be challenging and make me buy yarn. I don’t care, I just need some help. Do you have any ideas?
