may 13

for the first time in years, i can look at the calendar and not be sad... it's the 13th you know. for some reason, i always realize that it is the 13th, and remember what it used to mean to me. today is the first time that i don't care what it used to mean to me. i have a new date that means something to me. and depending on how sb looks at dates, it is either the 21 or the 25. i think i might pick the 25th... just because that was the planned date. the 21st was mr. allan trying not to … [Read more...]

returning to work

it is amazing how monday morning can be so relaxing some weeks. it's like, yea! i get to go back to my old routine, and be myself again. forget the relaxing (or lack there of) and go back to a place where you can be appreciated for what you are and what you do again. actually, i've only said hello to kathy and mar. it's just like before i left. i'm glad that i decided not to get stuff for everyone. i think that it's better. i'm getting better at not buying things for people. needless to … [Read more...]

lavendar mist

in the midst of the mar and tire man show, came a ray of light. lavendar mist. i never had the opportunity to see it when i visited washington dc last time. i was utterly devistated. i know i have talked about pollock before, i'm still talking about him now. i've never talked with a guard at a museum that knew so much about modern art. i walked to where i knew it was. downstairs, around the corner, a piece that you can see if you glance the right way, but is easily missed. did you know … [Read more...]

the nation’s capitol

after a fairly easy plane ride, mar, tire man and i arrived in washington dc. i slept a bit on the plane, knitted a bit and read a bit of my book. i don't mind flying, but it's a bit boring. mar and tire man snuggled the whole time. i kinda wished that i had invited sb to join us. sb got up just after 5 to take us all to the airport. that was so wonderful. he is such a nice guy. mom looks so much better than i expected. she is growing her hair out too. she doesn't look as old as i … [Read more...]

washington dc here i come

today begins the first paid vacation that i've had since aspect laid me off 2 years ago. so mar, tire man and i are going to our nations capital to visit mr. bush... should prove to be interesting. the last time i traveled with mar, i had a hideous time, and i'm prepared for the same this time. the cool thing about this time is that i will not be dependant on anyone for transportation or company. i'm guessing that the love birds will be hanging all over eachother, and that i'll be the third … [Read more...]

holocaust rememberance day

tuesday was holocaust rememberance day. when i got to work, on my walk, i noticed on one of the grassy patches a bunch of little flags. most yellow, but some green, red, orange and white as well. i thought to myself... i bet that is art. it's kind of interesting. not really a pattern of flags... but they are kinda pointed in an arrow, but none the less, they fill the entire patch of grass. as i walked closer, i noticed a sign infront of the flags, and there was an elderly gentleman … [Read more...]

connect four

gigglechick had posted this really cool connect four game a week or so ago. i'm totally addicted. i think i've won twice, and tied once. it didn't know we were tied because it thought it was going to win. what a loser game! but i'm addicted. that's just the way it goes. and, if that isn't bad enough, sb thinks that i should be playing yahtzee too. now, how am i supposed to get any work done? … [Read more...]

snarkyness

i belong to two discussion groups, sf-wow and wjg. i don't talk much on either group, unless i have something to say about the topic. when i was looking for work, i asked for help about finding a contact at peta. i got a nasty email back about the fact that i really didn't want to work for them, and didn't i know how horrible they were. no, i didn't do a bit of research about an organization before i asked if anyone had a contact there. come on. anyway, about a month ago, sf-wow decided … [Read more...]

sleeping

apparently, i needed sleep. i fell asleep by 6:45, yes, 6:45. mom called at 7 something, and i told her i was sleeping. i think i was dreaming when she called, because i was sure we were having a conversation... i just can't remember it. i took daisy out for a quicky at 11:20, and then at 12, fell back asleep. woke up at 4 something (ok, what is going on outside my house at 4 something?), slept until 5:30... got up. i didn't eat dinner, can you believe it? i think daisy ate, breakfast … [Read more...]
