Gwen’s Famous Chocolate No-Bakes

Ok, I’ve got a million things to talk about today, but I’m going to start with my cookie recipe. This came to me from Mrs. Fuller. Thank you again Mrs. Fuller for the recipe.

Chocolate No-Bakes

2 cups Sugar
1/2 cup Milk (Whole milk works best, but I’ve used all kinds and they all work)
1/4 cup Cocoa
1/2 cup Margarine (I always use BUTTER. I love Butter)
1/2 cup Peanut Butter (Smooth, I’ve not tried Chunky)
2 cups Quick Oats (Only Quick Oats, really!)
1 teaspoon Vanilla (I always put in a ton more Vanilla. More like a Tablespoon)

Mix the sugar, cocoa, butter and milk in a sauce pan. Over heat, bring to a hard boil. Let boil two minutes. (Seriously, set the timer here… You want the mixture to become like a fudge, so you need to boil it HARD to get the mixture to set up right in the end.)

Remove from heat. Add vanilla, peanut butter and oatmeal. (I like watching the alcohol burn off from the vanilla here… Watch the mixture come to a re-boil off the heat, very fun.)

Mix well. Drop by teaspoon on waxed paper.

Lick pan, eat droppings, accidently break a few so that you have to eat them before sharing.

Let cool about 1/2 hour. Store in an airtight container if you actually have some to store.

Ok, so my cookies look like turds, but they are UBER good.

Comments

  1. Hmmm, I wonder how they would be replacing the sugar with splenda – – then they would be lots less calories wink

  2. THESE LOOK SO DAMN GOOD!

    {hate diets…}

  3. Mmmmmm…OK, I’ll make them and then submit my review. grin

  4. I printed it out and put it in my recipe folder and I’m definitely going to try them, maybe next weekend. I’ll let you know how it went!

  5. My kids love those, they are sooooo good!  We eat so many we make ourselves sick!

  6. I love those cookies.  (had ‘em before).  They are the bomb.

  7. Weird – – I made some chocalate chip oatmeal cookies this weekend, and I NEVER bake. EVER. I may have to try to make these too – although they seem a tad complicated and I have a bad history of baking!

  8. Damn….I accidently sent that comment before I finished typing and I cant see where I left off—heh.

What I was saying is even if they are NO BAKE – – if anyone could screw them up , it would be me!
