Scrapbook Island DT Project Oct/Nov 2012

Studio Calico Wonderland December Daily

This month, I got a bulging pizza box.  It was beyond bulging.  It was a great big bulging pizza box.  Inside were the AWESOME Studio Calico Wonderland papers and embellishments.  Then, I saw what was causing the bulge…  A beautiful Handbook with chevrons…  And 5 packages of inserts.  What I really saw was a December Daily project staring back at me.   I was overwhelmed.  December Daily’s are time consuming.  And knowing I wanted to do my own, and how much time it was going to take…  Oh my.  So I did what any good crafter does.  I pulled out the paint.  Almost a whole month later…  We have this.  December Holidays 2012.

I will say, that it is beautiful.  The Studio Calico Wonderland line is beautiful.  I love all the embellies, and the papers, and well, the aura of the line.  It’s modern and classy, without being in your face Christmas.  There isn’t much left in my pizza box, so I will be buying a few additional papers to supplement my already ginormous Christmas paper stash.   The Jingle paper is my favorite.  And honestly, the wood veneers in snowflakes and trees, I had already purchased for myself.  They are so versatile.

And, then, I made a double LO.  I scraplifted.  I admit it.  Thank you Maggie Holmes for your inspiring LO that helped me get this project finished.  What I love doing was adding the new Tim Holtz star to the clustering.  I love the dimension that they give to the project.  I love how the gathered twigs some earthyness to a LO that could have become kitchy.  But part of that really is the classiness of the Studio Calico Wonderland line.  It just feels awesome.

I was so glad to be finished with my project, but I’m sad not to have much product left for my own December Daily.  I will be buying a Handbook for my own December Daily.  I’m going to start cutting papers for the inserts.  I’m going to be so grateful when we are in Germany for this awesome system of memory keeping.
