Oooh, it’s Lawn Fawn’s Snow Day!

I can not tell you how excited I was when Laurie from The Creative Escape let all her old designers know that she needed help with new displays for the store.  I've been kind of reclusive since LOAD, well, we all know how I love LOAD.  There have been so many problems at home.  Honestly, we switched schools yet again, and I don't know how, but our problems are seemly...  Gone.  Yep, gone.  It's crazy, and my petty cash pot is empty, but Sean is finally THRIVING.  Finally. I went into the … [Read more...]

Good Day Sunshine!

Last month I had the pleasure of going to Scrapbook Expo. I love going to Scrapbook Expo. All the fun people go and crop. It's a blast. I love seeing people I haven't seen in a long time.  This expo, I purchased the Good Day Sunshine Collection kit by Simple Stories.  At first I was a bit scared of the bright colors, but then I thought to myself, I'll temper it with a bunch of white and see where it goes! Golfland Love! This is where I started, with our trip to Golfland.  Sean has been … [Read more...]

Summer Lovin’

One of the great things about not working in the summer time is that you have lots of opportunities to hang out with cousins and friends! Yesterday we were hanging with my Aunt Dee, my girl cousins, and their kids.  We had a great time at the Morgan Hill Aquatic Center.  They have a shallow pool, two water slides, and then a area for play with water squirting above your head.  It's perfect for kids. Sean just loves his second cousins.  He really loves one of the boys in particular.  This … [Read more...]

Thank You card for K2

As the "coordinator" for the K2 graduation party, I have to well, coordinate the party.  This includes getting the cards together for all the teachers that work in Sean's classroom.  There are 6 of them. So, I went to Michaels, thinking I would find some inspiration, before I walk over to Scrapbook Island to get some apple stuff.  I found these totally cute Recollections frames for the new Fuji Film Polaroid cameras.  I was thinking these would be really cute as a card!  So I picked them up, … [Read more...]

LOAD524 – Day Thirty-One, Magic Awakening

Bah.  The last day of LOAD514.  The prompt, Dream Vacation.  Such an easy prompt.  Disneyland, of course.  Then Ireland, but Disneyland is my most favorite place on earth. I'll talk more about this LO when I update this post, but I wanted to make sure that I posted my last LOAD LO today... I'll be trying to continue LOAD every day in June.  Lets see how it goes. Where is your dream vacation?  Do you have more than one? … [Read more...]

LOAD514 – Day Thirty, Matching Lives

Today we talked about special spaces.  I have no special places.  I do have great memories of the house on Grand Traverse Street, and the AWESOME closets.  But trying to find pictures of these closets would be the death of me, because, well, seriously, who takes pictures of closets. So, I had this LO sitting in my crafting area needing to be finished. One thing that I remember most about being little is that Marilyn and I always matched.  We had matching clothes, matching slippers, … [Read more...]

LOAD514 – Day Twenty-Nine, $1.25 Breakfast

Food...  I love food.  Today's prompt was all about our favorite foods...  I have lots of happy food memories from my childhood...  Mom's spaghetti & flank steak, Mom's cookies & pies, Vernors, Halo Burger...  And I was going to go there.  Then I remembered my Grandpa Dapper's love of a cheap breakfast.  Every town we went to with him, we had to find the cheap breakfast. When we lived in Troy, there was a breakfast place that he ate at most every day with my mom.  Their breakfast, … [Read more...]

LOAD514 – Day Twenty-Eight, 8pm Reader

Looks like the rush is over, and we are back to normal.  Yay!  Lain challenged us today to talk about our bedtime routines.  I don't remember hugs and kisses, like Sean gets every night, but I do remember the 8:00pm bedtime.  I hated it.  I was sure there was so much going on in the house after I went to bed. But, in our house, we didn't have to go to sleep. We could be quietly in our rooms for as late as we wanted.  So, I would read.  I read tons!  I would wake up with books in my hands.  … [Read more...]

LOAD514 – Day Twenty-Seven, She wore a purple hat

Today's prompt, a bit easier than some of the others, was magic.  Funny, I didn't really have a magic story.  I'm pretty much a realist.  I wasn't that upset when I heard about the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus.  It all made sense. So, I was talking to my dad on the phone last night and I told him the prompt was magic.  He said, well that is easy, you saw The Magic Show in New York City.  And I said, you are right dad, that is perfect.  I pulled out the slides from the New York City trip in … [Read more...]

LOAD514 – Day Twenty-Six, I’d ask the hard questions

Today we were back to a thinking question...  If I knew then.  Well, dang.  I wish I had known to ask my grandparents, and family elders, the hard questions. Grandpa Dapper, I want to know what things were like in WWII, and had you met Grandpa Tully, what was he like?  Did you have a girlfriend in England during the war? Grandma Dapper, I want to know why you didn't speak Swedish?  What do you remember about your mother?  What did you like to cook?  What made you fall in love with … [Read more...]
