Good Day Sunshine!

Last month I had the pleasure of going to Scrapbook Expo. I love going to Scrapbook Expo. All the fun people go and crop. It’s a blast. I love seeing people I haven’t seen in a long time.  This expo, I purchased the Good Day Sunshine Collection kit by Simple Stories.  At first I was a bit scared of the bright colors, but then I thought to myself, I’ll temper it with a bunch of white and see where it goes!

Golfland Love!

Scrapbook LO: Golfland Love! This is where I started, with our trip to Golfland.  Sean has been infatuated with Golfland, and honestly, these papers really fit the summer feeling, and the bright, colorful atmosphere of the place.

I loved how Simple Stories put the really dark wood with the uber bright colors…  And I fell in love with the View Master wheel, with the quote “Right Here, Right Now.”  Honestly I was singing Jesus Jones as I was using these papers!  Because I went a bit busy with the papers, and only had stripes of white space, I chose to use journaling strips…  A few, and I mean just a few embellies, and I was done.

When I got home, I felt like it needed a bit of sparkle, I know, I don’t usually use sparkle, but I thought it needed it.  So, in the final version, there is a bit of blue sparkle on some of the lines…

Good Day Sunshine! (AKA Free Slurpee Day!)

Free Slurpee DayLet me tell you… 7/11 is the best day! I get to take my son to 711 and get a free small Slurpee. It was wonderful. Sean and I had the best time, going in, getting our Slurpee, and then walking out… Not a penny exchanged.

And then, look at how well the Good Day Sunshine Collection works with a free Slurpee! The colors are awesome with the Slurpee cup!  I actually used some of my favorite embellies, a Maya Road pin, a piece of flair and a heart paper clip!  I loved that paint strip bit, and good day sunshine really explained what a great day we were having.

Alum Rock Experience

Alum Rock ExperienceAt the end of the school year, Ms. Dani takes all the K2’ers to Alum Rock Park. I decided not to go on the trip this time. Honestly, I was tired, and I wanted John to go. So he did. The camera wasn’t taking the best shots, and his phone died. So I got a picture from a friend, and got this LO finished.

Another thing I love about this collection is the postage stamps! I took that sheet of paper and cut it up! I picked out my favorites, and look how great it turned out! I added a piece of bright yellow card stock, and wow! And, my Thickers, I love my Thickers! These Amy Tangerine Thickers look great with the line!

Fun in the Water

fun in the WATERSean and I spent time over the summer in Capitola with my cousin Angie and her kids.  She took this wonderful shot of Sean hugging me, and then her littlest Goobie hugging her.  It’s the cutest shot, and honestly, I feel like I look pretty here.  I loved every minute I spent with Angie, and I know that Sean did too.

Of the four LOs that I made with this line, I think that this one is my favorite.  I love the camera, I love the bit of flair that I added as the camera lens.  I love the little bit of blue washi that lets the white Thickers show up on the white paper.  But, most of all, I love the bit of paper that talks all about what summer is…  The rainbow effect is so beautiful, with the white letters…  It’s just perfect.

Thank you so much Simple Stories for a beautiful canvas!
