today wired.com suggests that the job market in san francisco for technical workers is getting better. i think that is a true statement, to a point. there are a bunch of us out there who have wonderful web skills. unfortunately, when you are out of work, you forget that you need to keep up with your skill set WHILE you are looking for work. it is very easy to get consumed in the fact that you are not working. i see so many people on sfwow complaining about some of these new tech jobs. … [Read more...]

today i got to drive my dad's corvette. dad never lets anyone drive his corvette. it's a 2002, bright red one, with a t-top. it is so powerful. i couldn't believe it. it drives so much differently than i expected. it's a rough ride, and it vibrates your butt. i can't decide if that is a good thing, or a bad thing. i also drove his jag XK8 convertable. i think that one is a 2000 or 2001. i know it's not old. it is such a smooth ride. you could have both windows down driving 70 mph … [Read more...]

i've started knitting a scarf for the rocker's mom for christmas. i'm using homespun yarn, k3 p3 pattern. it's really lovely. i'm also knitting the hoover blanket for missey andrea's bump. it's going to be yellow and white. it is hard work, but it is going to be beautiful. i also think i'm going to try and knit a couple of scarves for get crafty's scarf drive. i've got some nice left over yarn out in the garage... i've been wondering what to do with it... now i know. i think that … [Read more...]
