Daisy is much better!

So, after a rough Sunday, Monday Daisy was back to her old self. Running around like a puppy rather than the old lady that she is. She and I both thank you for the well wishes! Tonight, I was informed that my girl was not as well behaved as she should have been while I was on vacation. Apparently she "nipped" at my friends baby one of the 2 days she was at her house. I wouldn't be surprised if she did. She is old, and given enough play, she does get tired. I'm sure that between the 18 … [Read more...]

I’m home!

I'm still really tired, but I'm home. I tried really hard to stay positive about the trip. Every other minute, something else weird happened, but I went with it. Not normally how I deal with things. I was just so glad to get away that I wasn't going to let anything get me down. There will be lots more pictures tomorrow. Unfortunately, I got home to one sick puppy. Daisy is very ill. She has been throwing up for 2 days. She won't even eat rice. That surprises me. Her tummy seams to get … [Read more...]

Two sets of photos!

Yesterday, I did a ton of fun things! I took a ride out to the end of the Knik Goose Bay Road. There isn't anything but a private airport out there. I was disappointed. I thought there would be this beautiful view or something. There wasn't. Just trees. There are a bunch of trees here. Lots of birch trees. Actually the birch trees are pretty, but it's like in Ireland... You start getting tired of ruins in Ireland, in Alaska you start getting tired of trees. I found this boat out in … [Read more...]

Musk Ox Farm

On Monday I went to the Musk Ox Farm in Palmer. Apparently the Musk Ox had been hunted into extinction, and they brought in new Musk Oxen in the 1930's from Greenland. The Musk Ox farm in Palmer has 150 some odd Musk Ox. It is a really nice little farm. They had babies, and some adult males that weighed over 1000 pounds. At the Musk Ox Farm, I purchased some Qiviut. I bought 2 oz. of yarn. I know, that's not a lot of yarn. It was so pricey. $88. But, when am I ever going to see it … [Read more...]

Mt. McKinley, by air!

Yesterday Mom and I went out to Talkeetna. Apparently, it is the base camp for all the people who want to go and climb Mt. McKinley. Ok, so mom can't climb Mt. McKinley, and I'm not going to climb it without her. So we walked around the town. It was a really quaint little town. Lots of Alaskan products. I bought the GNO girls some roses made out of rabbit fur. You know, there is a lot of fur to be purchased in Alaska. Not really sure how I feel about that. Anyway, in the morning, it was … [Read more...]

I saw many mountains today!

I took this picture today while waiting for my mom to pick me up so I could go to the store. It's the view from our hotel. Isn't it lovely? This is what we had for dessert tonight. It's it lovely? even better it tasted great! … [Read more...]

Alaska!

I woke up in Alaska this morning. Without my luggage. Alaska Airlines sent the bag they forced me to check to Spokane rather than Anchorage. Yeah, I'm a happy camper. But it's lovely here. Absolutely lovely. Unfortunately, the digital camera card reader was in the bag they forced me to check. So, I can't show you how pretty it is... Yet. Hopefully, I will have my bag just after 1:00 today. If not, there is a Nordstrom (apparently there is no Target) in Anchorage. I'll just buy new … [Read more...]
