I still have all this beautiful Heidi Swapp Memory File product on my desk, so I said, “hey, let’s make a LO!”
Today, I went back to my incredible vacation to the UK at the beginning of the summer. One of the little things that happened was I got to have tea. Yes, John and Sean sat with me… But I didn’t have to share, and they didn’t want to join in. It was amazing. I don’t know what it is about having tea that makes me feel incredibly special, but I do. The last real tea I had was with my mom. We went to the Empress on Vancouver Island. Talk about amazing. It was something that everyone should experience once in their lives. I also realized that the actual tea at the Empress gives me optical headaches. I don’t know if it is the caffeine or something else that is in the tea, but it’s all badness.
Anyway, back to this tea. We went to Leeds Castle. Funny story. I thought that Leeds Castle was in Leeds. I really did. We planned our vacation to go through Leeds on the way to Edinburgh just so that I could go to the Castle. Imagine my surprise when we found out on our second day in England that Leeds Castle was no where near Leeds. I just assumed at that point, we would not make it to Leeds Castle. There just wasn’t time in our itinerary.
On our last day, John said, “Lets go to Leeds Castle. We have time, and it’s not that far, and we have nothing else planned.” That wasn’t exactly true. We wanted to take Sean to Stonehenge. Unfortunately for us, it was the Vernal Equinox and Stonehenge was closed to keep the crazies out. We were sad, but rolled with it, and honestly, what an INCREDIBLE choice we made! Leeds Castle, in a nut shell, is incredible.
We started getting hungry about 1:30 pm, and wound up at the Fairfax restaurant for lunch. They were closing down, so choices were limited. We all ate… Then I saw the sign for tea. Lady Baillie Afternoon Teas to be exact. OH MY GOD. John said I should do it. I just love tea. And he was right. We would probably never come back. It was one of those once in a life time things. I was so glad I did it.
There will be more about Leeds Castle either in another LO, or Project Life sheet. But this experience deserved to have it’s story told. Do you have any memories about family vacations that are about your experience specifically? I’d love to hear them!
