Secret Pals Questions!

Here are some questions to help out my secret pal… Oh, I can’t wait to “meet” you!

1. Are you a yarn snob (do you prefer high- a nd/natural fibers)? Do you avoid Red Heart and Lion Brand? Or is it all the same to you?

I prefer wool. Doesn’t have to be expensive, but I really like it best. Not a big fan of cotton. I like name brands, but I’ve knitted with Lion brand in the past, and I’m sure I will again.

2. Do you spin? Crochet?

Nope. I think I’d like to learn, but I’ve not been brave enough to try.

3. Do you have any allergies? (smoke, pets, fibers, perfume, etc.)

Roses and cats. I know, it’s wrong, but it’s true. 4. How long have you been knitting?

I’ve been knitting since I was ten. I’ve stopped and started over the years. This time I’ve been knitting for 5 years solid.

5. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list?

I do have an Amazon wish list… It is a very good thing.

6. What’s your favorite scent? (for candles, bath products etc.)

Honestly, I don’t really do scented things. I like Vanilla, but I’m a pretty natural person and I don’t have lots of “smelly” things in the house.

7. Do you have a sweet tooth?

I LOVE CHOCOLATE!

8. What other crafts or Do-It-Yourself things do you like to do?

I’m known to scrapbook and sew, but since I’ve been knitting again I don’t do them as often as I used to.

9. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if your buddy wants to make you a CD)

I like 80’s, alternative, swing, rock-a-billy, 50’s rock and roll and roots rock. Matchbox Twenty, John Mayer, REM, Counting Crows, The Wallflowers, Lisa Loeb and my all time favorite Mr. Deke Dickerson are what are in my cd changer. I can play MP3’s (and I have an uber cute pink ipod!)

10. What’s your favorite color? Or–do you have a color family/season/palette you prefer?

Hello? Pink! Can you say Gwen loves pink. The more pink the better! I also like creams and wine colors.

11. What is your family situation? Do you have any pets?

No kids, and one dog, Miss Daisy.

12. What are your life dreams? (really stretching it here, I know)

I don’t have a ton of dreams right now. I’d like to have children, but that involves a man. I’m having issues letting go of the last one, so I’m not taking on a new one yet.

13. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with?

Favorite? I’ve horded a ton of Rowan Kid Soft. I have 50 some odd skeins. I also like Lamb’s Pride Worsted Weight. It felts beautifully. I’ve been dying to try Rowan Plaid. I also like Shaefer Elaine. It’s pricey, but it makes the cutest baby sweaters!

14. What fibers do you absolutely *not* like?

I’m not a huge fan of cottons or chenelle, but I’ve knitted with both in the past.

15. What is/are your current knitting obsession/s?

Felted purses. I adore making them. Now I’m trying to incorporate more novelty yarns to add interest.

16. What is/are your favorite item/s to knit?

Felted purses. They are quick and easy and I love knitting in the round.

17. What are you knitting right now?

I’m working on 2 scarfs, a baby blanket and a baby sweater with Sidir Domino.

18. What do you think about ponchos?

I just made second poncho for myself out of Rowan Big Wool. I also made one out of some Moorehouse Merino.

19. Do you prefer straight or circular needles?

Circular all the way.

20. Bamboo, aluminum, plastic?

Bamboo, bamboo, bamboo.

21. Are you a sock knitter?

Nope, and don’t think I want to be.

22. How did you learn to knit?

My mom or girl scouts… I just can’t remember.

23. How old is your oldest UFO?

About 9 months. I like to finish things but, I’m really hating working on that baby blanket.

24. What is your favorite animated character or a favorite animal/bird?

Auora from Sleeping Beauty.

25. What is your favorite holiday?

Christmas.

26. Is there anything that you collect?

Expensive Mid-Century furniture. But, I love old knitting pattern books from the 40’s and 50’s.
