LOAD520 – Day 6

Today has been 7 business days since I emailed the Guided Studies teacher for help. She also got a request from the principal the same day. 7 business days. And just think, this woman is supposed to provide 2 - 3 hours of work for Sean each week, or support him with the work he already has, but is falling behind with. I think she sees this as a vacation. I just reminded the principal that we've had no contact from her. Again, I digress. I am scrapbooking. I am part of the ScrapHappy … [Read more...]

LOAD520 – Day 5

Today I had to take Archie to the vet. He has this hot spot thing going on, which became infected. Sigh. He's on antibiotics now. Go Archie! Today felt almost normal. Almost. I couldn't go into the vet, she called while I sat in the car. I didn't sign for the credit card bill. After the vet, I stopped by Hicklebees to pick up Seans new book. Then I played Pokemon Go for an hour or so. It was so nice to be out. I felt almost bad about it. But, I digress, it's a LOAD day. Abbey … [Read more...]

LOAD520 – Day 4

One of my favorite parts of LOAD is signing up to be a guest designer. I love getting the prompt early, taking my time, thinking hard, and really making a special LO. I do things I don't normally do. This time was no different. Abbey LOAD Day 4: I Saw Her Standing There. Story: Tell the story of an original vs. a reproduction/copy. Technique: Scraplift a layout! I must tell you that the email I got included the script that Alice was going to use for that video. She referenced Tiffany … [Read more...]

LOAD520 – Day 3

Back to Abbey LOAD! Today we are looking at the album Meet the Beatles, specifically "I Want to Hold Your Hand." Story: Story about hands... holding hands, aging hands, helping hands, little hands... Technique: Blue/shadows inspired by album cover. Yep. I've got this. Well, I thought I had it. John really enjoys taking pictures of Sean and I holding hands. I've scrapped one before, it was at Christmas in the Park, years ago. Then I was like, no. No. I don't want to do that. So I … [Read more...]

LOAD 520 – Day 2

It's beyond hard to realize that we have been in this house for 7 weeks. Seven weeks. Breathe. Seven joyful weeks. Seven weeks full of complaining about school work. Seven weeks of avoiding reading. Seven weeks of the question "can I play Fortnight." Over and over again. But, I digress. Beatlemania: Story: Something you were/are crazy about; Technique: Subtitle/caption a photo on your page Well. I'm crazy about Sean, right? And he is crazy about Fortnight. One thing John and I … [Read more...]

LOAD 520 – Day 1

Today, for the first time in a long time, I feel like blogging. There is so very much to blog about. Today, is the 48th day of shelter-in-place in Santa Clara County because of Covid-19. I've not been to the grocery store in literally 3 weeks. I need to go too. I'm so missing fresh fruit and vegetables. We are out of milk. One thing we are not out of is flour. Around the time I went to the grocery store last, I also purchased 50 pounds of King Arthur's artisan bread flour. Commercial … [Read more...]

Gearing up for LOAD519

I just love LOAD. It brings me so much joy. Last LOAD, I got sick, just about 2 weeks in. I did a LO for day 12, but, I didn't even post that day. I'm just a wimpy sick person. So, I asked for a LO again this LOAD, and I got day 12 again. I must be a day 12 kind of girl. I am so excited about the prompt. I'm not going to share it. I'll share it on Day 12. But, because I am so excited, I'm going to write my post. Actually, I'm going to post it on May 12 so I can tell you on the … [Read more...]

LOAD218 – Day 17

Day 17.  Saturday is finally here.  I can work in the morning, I don't have to work in the dark.  Woo hoo!  Let's look at today's prompt, shall we?  How have your friends helped you become the person you are now OR use the gallery and let one of the LOADsters influence you.  Yep, I can do both. Well, I found a LO that I really liked.  One that was digitally done.  I really like digital LO's.  They are so pretty, and you can do ANYTHING you … [Read more...]

LOAD218 – Day 16

Let's do this!  Day 16!  Our prompt, when have you taken something too far/challenged yourself.  OR challenge yourself by making a monochromatic layout.  Well, I can do that! I've been totally feeling craft paper this LOAD.  I just love that it's brown, or tan, or whatever you need it to be!  So, I chose craft!  I decided to go to Dinosaur National Monument today.  I thought it would be perfect for a monochrome LO.  I had this scrap of Hambly paper that is a map of Paris.  It was perfect.  I … [Read more...]

LOAD218 – Day 15

Can I just say, it's Day 15.  I had to take Sean to rugby last night.  I had to go visit my dad today.  I had book club tonight.  I didn't have my book read until 6pm today.  Book club is at 7pm.  To say I've been busy is an understatement.  It's days like today that I think I'm just going to give up on LOAD.  And then, this happens... The prompt: I can do anything.  Something hard or difficult.  OR create a LO with 3 elements.  A large photo, 1 solid color cardstock, 3 pieces of patterned … [Read more...]
