f9/11

this is actually a comment on a boy and his computer, but it isn’t taking. i’ll post it here instead.

ok… i saw the movie yesterday. i liked it. my mom loved it. my parents moved to flint in 1966. i was born there in 67. we moved away in 82. my mom moved back in 86 and lived there for 6 more years. she has met michael moore, and knows people who know his parents, they live in burton, not flint.

i hated roger and me. hated it. it wasn’t the flint i remembered as a child. since then, i’ve disliked michael moore. it was like he changed my childhood memories. i can tell you it sucks to say that you are from flint now. everyone i meet mentions that movie and asks if things are really like that… and did i like the movie?

however, i remembered lots of things about flint in F9/11. things were exactly how i remembered them, the last time i visited there. i also saw people i knew this time. it really brought the war, and flints poverty home for me.

i have to say, i’ve been against this war since it started. i’ve been against both bushes since i was able to vote. and yes, i vote.

however, i think that this movie was really trying to get people to talk… and hopefully vote. it also is trying to get people to see that, as with our own lives, nothing is ever quite as it may seem.

it doesn’t matter if you liked the movie, or even like michael moore. what matters is that people start talking about our government, and start getting active in how it operates. it emphases how important it is to vote, and that every vote counts. even in florida.

so, like the movie, hate the movie, in the end that really doesn’t matter… but vote, please vote. that is what is important, not arguing about the merits of this movie.

i mean it about the voting thing. i don’t care if you cancel my vote out a hundred times, it is so important to vote. if you aren’t registered, REGISTER, if you are and don’t vote, SHAME ON YOU. it is the most important thing you and i get to do as citizens. if more people did, we wouldn’t be at war right now. i guarantee it.
